  • Lindsey McKhann

    PRESIDENT

    Lindsey is thrilled to serve as President of SIAS for the 2023-2024 term! Her previous SIAS commitments include being Chief Programming Officer, a SMUNC Crisis Chair, and a member of the MUN team. She studies International Relations (International Security and East/Southeast Asia concentrations) and Human Rights. Originally from Edina, Minnesota, she has spent Spring and Summer 2023 studying abroad in Cape Town, South Africa and working for a judicial reform NGO in Jakarta, Indonesia. On campus, she does research with the Center for Human Rights and International Justice and is an RA in Otero, the four-class public service house.   • Andrew Gerges

    VICE PRESIDENT

    Andrew is a junior from Torrance, California and is studying Economics and International Relations. He is very excited to serve as Vice President this year and for SIAS in general (top club on campus.) On campus he's worked and researched for the Gordian Knot Center and the Freeman Spogli Institute. He is especially interested in the propping up of middle and low income economies in the context of great-power competition. In his free time, he enjoys playing videogames he’s made fun of for, like Civilization VI or Cities: Skylines, in addition to the generic answers of journaling, hiking, and exploring the Bay Area.   • Lily Raaka

    FINANCIAL OFFICER

    Lily is a senior studying Mathematics with a minor in East Asian Studies, China Subplan. Lily is serving as this year's Financial Officer, which marks her fourth year as a SIAS board member. She started her SIAS journey as a Marketing Intern turned Marketing head, then worked as Director of Community Development, created the Chief of Staff Executive Position last year, has worked on SMUNC, and has participated on the MUN travel team. She is from Sonoma, CA, loves learning languages, baking, and trying to recruit everyone to join SIAS. Contact me at lraaka@stanford.edu

  • Sophie Calcott

    CHIEF OF STAFF

    Sophie is a senior from the Bay Area studying History and Archaeology, currently working on an honors thesis on the religious and political representation of women and their bodies in medieval Byzantium (very cool and relevant, I know). She is beyond excited to serve as Chief of Staff of SIAS this year! Sophie’s freshman year, she joined SIAS as a member of the MUN team and MUN board intern, became MUN captain for her sophomore year, and served as VP last year. Outside of SIAS, you can catch her reading (likely Russian lit), hiking, doing yoga, or baking. Contact me at callcott@stanford.edu

  • Aya Daisey

    DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION OFFICER-AT-LARGE

    Aya is a junior from Lewes, Delaware and is majoring in International Relations with a Human Rights minor. Aya will be the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Officer at large for the 23'-24' academic school year and is eager to work with SIAS! On campus she's researched for Dr. Traci Parker, who is a professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is writing her second book, Beyond Loving: Black Love, Sex, and Marriage in the Twentieth Century.   • Sebastian Vasquez

    DEPUTY FINANCIAL OFFICER

    Sebastian is a sophomore from the suburbs of New York and is likely majoring in Public Policy or Economics with a minor in Spanish. Sebastian is very excited to serve as Deputy Financial Officer this year and do exciting things with SIAS. On campus, he’s also involved with Habla, which provides ESL lessons for Stanford service workers and SEEDS, which works with local high schools to provide accessible learning opportunities in ecology.
