Cardinal Commitment

SIAS is a Cardinal Commitment organization with the Stanford Haas Center for Public Service. In line with promoting public service and advocacy on campus, SIAS offers students the opportunity to work on projects and events related to service and international relations. Under the Cardinal Commitment program, students can engage in service surrounding a particular cause for three quarters and receive certification for their involvement.

SIAS is committed to providing opportunities to learn more about and contribute to service and international relations. Our utmost priority is giving you the flexibility to design your own form of service, within your personal interests and goals. There are multiple ways for students to earn a Cardinal Commitment through involvement with SIAS.

For instance, you could:

  • Organize round-table discussions with students on intergovernmental organizations and climate change

  • Coordinate an event with speakers on US-Iran relations

  • Spearhead a debate on humanitarian aid

  • Work on an independent research project on trade agreements
